Grange School Rowing Club score four victories at Runcorn Spring Head

GRANGE School rowers returned home with four winners’ medals form their first outing of the New Year on Saturday.
Their crews were best in class at Runcorn’s Spring Eights Head, a time trial over a 6km course on the River Weaver.
Laura Worthington, Lauren Chapple, Megan Short, Katy Jacques, Emma Bartley, Janet Davies, Emily Ford and cox Sophie Rowe were on board a WJ17 boat that topped their category’s timesheets.
The MJ16 eight of James Hall, Calum McRoberts, Louis Rees, James Rees, Lewis Morgan, Matt Thornes, Josh Breigal, Sam Clayton and cox Richard Shepherd matched their feat.
A coxless quad of Kat Heine, Florence Pickup, Amy Grieve and Ciara Haymer, from hosts Runcorn Rowing Club, were fastest too.
The Hartford school’s other victors on the day were an MJ15 coxed quad scull of James Hazlewood, Jack Bond, Mike Galvin, David Whittaker and cox Akash Kotecha.
